Money: APC Counsellors are self employed and set their own fees. These are usually able to be negotiated according to your ability to pay. To access the Mental health Plan under Medicare, you need to have been diagnosed with a Mental iIlness. APC along with its Peak Body, PACFA is working hard to ensure counsellors along with Psychologists to be accredited under Medicare. Until this happens clients are not yet able to claim through Medicare however the fees of many counsellors are set at such a level that there is often no difference in the “out of pocket” payment that you might pay another practitioner or qualified counsellor. 

A counsellor who is a member of the APC is highly trained.  A counsellor is able to treat and manage a variety of issues that confront people on a daily basis.
