The ASSOCIATION OF PERSONAL COUNSELLORS INCORPORATED is a professional association dedicated to the promotion and support of counselling which is professional and exemplary in standard. Membership is open to all Christian counsellors who seek to integrate their understanding of faith with clinical practice.
The APC was established in Sydney in 1993. Membership has broadened to include counsellors from Sydney, regional NSW and interstate.
In a profession where practitioners can be isolated, APC provides a place to belong where support, networking and professional development are available. APC has established regional groups for this purpose.
APC members work with a broad range of client issues including grief and loss, relationships, spiritual issues, integration of faith and life, recovery from trauma and abuse, life transitions and difficulties caused by addictions. Members work in a variety of settings, the majority in private practice and some with organisations such as Anglicare and Lifeline.
Members are required to adhere to APC’s code of ethics and to practice under supervision. Training is accepted from a wide range of modalities consistent with the training standards specified by PACFA. |

P is the counsellor who is linked in relationship to the cross of Christ.
AP - the 'p' is standing alongside 'a' (the client).
PC - the 'p' is linking with another client 'c' who
needs more holding than the 'a' client. Also, because 'p' is in
relationship with Christ, 'a' and 'c' benefit from the grace of the
cross as well |
